I don't know if it's a matter of simply declaring if one is happy or not, but I figure it doesn't hurt to try.
I'm happy now!
Did that work? We'll see in a couple of days if I am or not...
So I'm moving my blog styling self over here from LJ. Can't say I'll update more frequently, but I'm hiding out from the LJ world for now at least.
So I've been an active buyer lately. Actually as I thought about it, there are a lot of things that I've been wanting to get, but just haven't gotten around to doing yet. This weekend, just happened to be good for that kind of thing.
I bought two CD's. My favorite song from them being Devil In A Midnight Mass by Billy
Talent. It's what got me hooked on the album enough to make me buy it. Not that I really needed that much convincing once I discovered that the album was out, but that's another story.
So anyway, I think Kaara is my only friend on here, so... Kaara I guess you will be the only one really reading this. But then again I have to write as if other people might find this thing. I mean, there are friends out there waiting to happen! Er... it could happen.
Oh yeah, I was talking about things that I got this weekend. Well I also got another journal to write in. I'm sure my mother would say, "What! Another journal? How many of those things do you have?" And the current answer is four. One for fanfiction, one for poetry, one personal and now one for fiction. My fanfiction journal was sharing space for it, but I finally got another journal for it.
I also picked up a new video game this weekend for my Playstation Portable. I picked it up for a number of reasons I guess. The main one being that I wanted to play the game. The series is NCAA Football, and I've bought almost every annual installment of them going back to 2001, the lone exception being the 2002
version. And I must say that I'm already glad I bought it. Part of this is that though almost every copy of the game I have is for the PS2, this one is for the PSP. And though it doesn't have as many of the features as its xbox 360 version, or even the PS2 one, I'm amply satisfied. Partly because this means that I will now be getting my money's worth out of my PSP. I really haven't played it as much as I should have, and I know I will put enough hours into this lone game that it will justify the money spent on the PSP.So while it feels like I just spent $40 that I could have put off for a while, it also makes me feel like I just justified a $250 purchase I made at the beginning of the year. Besides, if I hadn't of spent the money there, I know it would have gone to oil companies as I paid for gas while driving around in my restlessness.
Now there are very few things on my list of things I "want" to get. This list is full of things that once i get them, I will have no desire to buy any new luxuries for a long time as most of the stuff will last quite a while, if not years.
The list as it currently stands.
- New TV to replace the 13-some-odd-year-old one I currently have.
- A new stereo to replace the one I got in fifth grade. Which currently can't get radio signals or play CDs.
- A DVD/VCR combo to replace the one I currently don't have.
- An input for my computer that will allow me to record old VHS tapes into a digital format.
So that's about it. I also think that this will be a good way to really kick off my vox blog. After all, it was sitting kind of lonely when all it had was an entry saying, "Hi! I'm here! Look at me!"
Okay, so maybe I didn't use those exact words, but you get the idea.
So Kaara, as you will probably be the only one to read this, and you are off camping in English this week, I'm not exactly expecting comments. But then, if things are like my LJ account, when do I ever get comments?
Anyway, Enjoy your tall Blog O' AJ. I'm signing off.
